Invictus poem is a short sixteen lined poem by William Ernest Henley. It is divided into four stanzas.

The title Invictus in Latin symbolizes ‘unconquered’, that means unbeaten or unvanquished. As the name shows the poem tells us to face any risk or pain in our life without showing fear.

William Ernest Henley’s (Poets) life is an illustration for his poem. He suffered from TB of the bone. But the disease didnt conquered his talents and gifts.

So we can conclude that invictus poem is themed on courageousness / braveness.
